‘I’d rather hurt myself, cos I don’t want to hurt you anymore’

Hm.

I’m just thinking about this notion and what it means. How people treat others in respect of feelings. And also where people place each other and themselves in order of priority. Who comes first?

I guess that’s completely dependant on the person in question. And the relationship in question too.

But they say you love someone enough, you’ve got to let them go, eh?

You’d hurt yourself before they hurt. You’d take the pain?

I guess that’s revolved around the idea of one loving somebody who doesn’t love them in return. At least not anymore?

I don’t know.

What would you do? Break your own heart and let them go, or fight for it? Not let it end. Is that even up to you?

You don’t have any control over it. You give someone your heart trusting and hoping that they will never break it.

But what happens when it’s over for one person and not for the other?

I guess you don’t really have a choice. You have to let them go and move on.

Maybe you’ll get over it quickly, maybe you’ll never get over it.

I wonder, if it was me, if I ever would.
